What a wonderful experience we had on our intimate and personal tour with Laura. My husband and I along with close friends had decided to vacation in Charleston. Neither one of us had ever been to Charleston, so we did our homework. As I am a personal chef, food was at the top of my list. Our friends are historical and garden fanatics. So, needless to say all of these aspects were important to us. Laura demonstrated her obvious passion for the city in which she grew up. Having that personal touch of this tour gave us so much more understanding of the history and beauty of the
homes as well as the beautifully landscaped remarkable gardens. Being the foodie that I am, I was quite impressed with the breakfast which was served before our tour as well as the luncheon that was served by Laura at the end of our tour. The decor of the dining table consisted of fine linens and antique china. As Laura served us a delicious tomato aspic with marinated shrimp, the conversations continued. The dessert with tea was wonderful as well.
Pillows of meringue filled with peach ice cream were served. How impressed was I? I always thought that New Orleans was the best city to visit if you are looking for great food. I am now a believer that Charleston has it beat by a long shot, of all aspects of historical homes, rich history and beauty, beautiful gardens and of course, my favorite, great food. Thank you, Laura for a wonderful tour and of course, your graciousness. —————Ceil Vardar…….
